A native of West Texas, Jean Prescott wears her western heritage as
comfortably as a well broken in pair of boots. Her grandfather, who cowboyed for
Charles Goodnight and other ranchers in the Texas panhandle, had a direct influence
on Jean and the direction her life would take. From the warm glow of a campfire
to the bright lights of the concert stage, Jean delights her audiences with songs
about the west, the people who made it what it is today and those who are dedicated
to preserving the western lifestyle. So sit back and get ready to hear Jean sing
you stories that paint vivid musical pictures of the way of life in the real west.
A multiple award winning artist, Jeans CD, An Inspirational Tapestry
of the West, received the 2002 Western Album of the Year award by the prestigious
Academy of Western Artists. In 1998 she was honored by the State of Texas for
her musical contribution to the preservation of Texas music and history.
Jeans rich alto voice graces an interactive music exhibit at the
new, recently opened National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth, Texas.
One of only ten ladies selected for the exhibit, she is featured with Hall of
Fame honorees, Dale Evans, Cindy Walker, Patsy Cline and others. Her music is
regularly featured on the Red Steagall Cowboy Hour and you will often find Jeans
songs in the top ten charts for western music. A multiple award
winning artist, Jean Prescott hangs her hat just a little bit south of Abilene,Texas,
with her husband, singer/songwriter Gary Prescott. Jeans music has been
referred toas the spiritual essence of the west and she shares her
love of western life through her songsabout the real west of yesterday and today.
Her warm manner and total ease with her audiences always brings them back for
more. My goal is to write and sing good songs, Jean says. I
like songs that tell stories songs that have substance to them. Sharing
her love for the west through her music, Jean has been featured at the International
Western Music Festival, The World Championship Ranch Rodeo Finals, the National
Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, the San Antonio Stock Show and the Red Steagall
Cowboy Poetry Gathering, just to mention a few. Jeans most recent
awards include the Western Music Associations 2006 Best Musical Collaboration
and the prestigious American Cowboy Culture Award for Western Music from theNational
Cowboy Symposium also in 2006. She is one of the top five female vocalists of
2007and her latest release, Sweethearts in Carhartts, as well as one
song from the album were inthe top five albums and songs of 2007. Her rich alto
voice graces an interactive music exhibitat the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall
of Fame in Fort Worth, Texas, and she has beenhonored by the Texas State Legislature
for her contribution to the preservation of Texas musicand history. This
songbird of the prairie is a big hit at western events all over the country with
her uniquestyle and lovely voice. And, the best thing about Jeans music
is that not only is it highlyentertaining, but most of her songs are written about
real people and real experiences. The feeling with which she sings those songs
gives her audiences the real flavor of the west. Jean accompanies herself
on her custom made Pimental guitar and sometimes entertains with her group called
The Sweethearts in Carhartts. Whether she graces a concert stage or

Dedicated to preserving their western heritage, Jean and singer/songwriter husband,
Gary Prescott, make their home south of Abilene, Texas, where they raise paint
and quarter horses and continue to write and sing about the cowboy way of life. Reviews

Jean can be heard on the weekly, nationally syndicated radio program, The
Red Steagall Cowboy Corner as well as many other western music radio programs
across the U.S., Canada and Europe. She has had numerous top ten songs on the
western music charts and her most recent CD, Tapestry of the West, has been one
of the top albums on the national western music charts. She has six albums of
cowboy and western music available including her award winning Prairie Flowers
CD.
